I’m reaching out to ask for support for a young family I care deeply about whose lives were suddenly changed by an unexpected medical emergency.

Shortly after welcoming her firstborn baby boy, Boston, Taneille, known and loved by many as Tilly, suffered an unexpected thalamic stroke. Tilly is young, was previously healthy, and was adjusting to life as a new mom when everything changed in an instant.

Following multiple CT scans, MRIs, and extensive testing, doctors discovered the stroke was caused by a small hole in her heart. This is a condition 25% of people live with their entire lives without ever knowing they have it. Less than 5% of these people see an unfortunate circumstance like this family has. It led to this frightening and life altering event. Tilly is now at home, healing, and awaiting surgery.

What should have been a season filled with routine, bonding, and joy has quickly become a time of recovery, uncertainty, and rebuilding. While doctors are confident she will make a full recovery, healing takes time, rest, and support. Tilly is making steady progress each day as her strength and coordination improve, but her focus right now must remain on healing and caring for her baby.

Tilly’s partner, Jeff, has stepped away from work to be by her side and care for their son during this critical period. During this time, the family continues to manage essential expenses such as their mortgage, baby formula, diapers, clothing, and everyday household needs, all while navigating the emotional and financial strain that comes with a serious medical event.

If you know Tilly, you know she is one of the most caring, gentle, and selfless people you will ever meet. She is a natural caregiver who is always there for others. Now, she and her family need that same care and support returned to them.
