Hi everyone, my name is Carley Blake, and I’m creating this GoFundMe for my future father-in-law, Thomas Pearce. If you know anything about Thomas, he has a heart of gold, he’s a hardworking family man, with a southern gentleman attitude, back porch singing soloist, and can light up a room full of laughter very quickly!

Thomas was recently taken to the emergency room for what he thought was a minor infection in his leg. Shortly after arriving, he was admitted. The infectious disease doctors were heavily involved in his treatment plan. The doctors were quick to place him on an antibiotic drip and schedule CT scans and blood work to rule out numerous health concerns but also to help narrow down what his infection could be. His doctors have since given him a diagnosis with the infection of fournier’s gangrene, a very rare, life-threatening bacterial infection. As of 4/6, Thomas underwent a very serious surgery to have a large portion of the infected tissue removed from his leg.

At this time, Thomas is recovering in the hospital but isn’t out of the woods just yet. Not only with an extended hospital stay ahead of him, he will need more care after that! He has a long road of recovery ahead of him but he’s a fighter.

I do not want Thomas, or his wife Kris, to have stress about all the costs of bills, medical expenses and recovery expenses while he is battling this severe infection. However, Kris will be working part-time hours as she has to care for Thomas upon his release from the hospital.

Thomas would NOT want to ask for donations of any kind, because that's the type of man he is. He currently does not have medical insurance and will be out of work while he is recovering. That is why I am creating this page on his behalf.
