As many of you know my nephew Matthew was involved in a serious car accident on Thursday night. He was airlifted to Calgary and will continue his care and recovery there.
Matt had surgery on Friday evening that went very well, however the prognosis from the Doctor remains the same that he will not regain the strength of his legs.
The road before the family is unknown and I'm sure fearful, but Ray and Cassandra are the first to say that there are so many blessings already evident and so many ways already that God has had his hand in this the whole time. Matt is already amazing doctors with how clear and conscious he was when he arrived at the hospital and how quickly he is passing milestones coming out of surgery.
We serve a powerful God that will in the end have the say over how Matt will recover and we know that God has given us community to help each other in such a time as this.
I'm sure many of you can relate to our family, as we struggle with the distance between us and practical ways to help right now.
We know that the recovery time will be extensive and supporting someone in a hospital can be very financially tasking.
Please consider giving to the family for the many financial burdens that will come up, hospital parking, meals, driving back and forth from Blackfalds to Calgary, lost wages and those are just a few examples. We also don't know what Matt will need as well and would love for finances to be something that they don't have to worry about at this time.
Thanks so much for considering and please search for "Prayers for Matt" on Facebook if you would like updates and to communicate your support!
