Those of you that knew Jeaunetta and Joel knew their lives play out like a Hallmark love story- the two of them fell in love and made vows for better or for worse, not knowing what the future held. Unfortunately, Jeaunetta had numerous health challenges in their 29 years of marriage. After the birth of their two children, Jeaunetta was confined to a wheelchair and had to re-learn to walk and regain her strength. Joel helped Jeaunetta through this and instead of focusing on their own trails and challenges they truly made it their life calling to serve and encourage others.
Jeaunetta later had brain cancer, was hospitalized, and had to start all over again, yet Joel was always by her side. When COVID-19 hit, Joel did all the shopping for his own family and In Laws due to their hampered immune systems and his mother-in-law’s struggles with cancer. Joel worked hard to keep everyone safe, only to come down with the virus himself and pass away on December 13, 2020.
Joel was always joking and happy, he never had a cross word to say about anyone, knew no stranger, and would always do whatever he could to make others’ lives better. Joel always had a smile on his face, opening doors and helping people every day. He had a true servant's heart. One particular story illustrates this - Joel was at the convenience store when a man came rushing out and as usual, Joel opened the door for him and smiled. Only to find out later that the man had just robbed the store! That was just like Joel, kind to everyone, no matter who it was.
With Joel’s passing, we are devastated and not sure know how Jeaunetta will manage without his support. Through Jeaunetta’s illnesses and Joel’s most recent lengthy stay in the hospital fighting for his life due to COVID-19, they have racked up enormous medical debt. We have faith that God will provide a miracle for this family, thousands of people have been blessed by Jeaunetta and Joel over the years so if there is anything you can do to support them in their time of need it is greatly appreciated.
