Valerie Verstegen is a 32 year old wife and mom of 2 amazing kiddos, Marlee (3) and Lincoln (9 months).  She is a stay-at-home mother in Kaukauna and a successful director for Mary Kay.  

The last week in October, she finally went to the doctor after flu symptoms that just wouldn’t go away.  After a series of different visits that lead to testing and biopsies, she was confirmed to have breast cancer on Friday, October 26.  Further testing brought results on October 27th that the cancer is also in her liver and her bones.  A treatment plan has not yet been established, as the first priority is to get her liver functioning before anything else can happen.

As Valerie’s long-time best friend, I have organized this campaign to help the Verstegen family continue to provide for their family, maintain their every day life, and enjoy their time together on top of the appointments, treatment, and illness.  The money raised will go toward primarily medical, but additionally travel, and household expenses, as their work and family roles have changed.  As donations come in, I have been making transfers via PayPal to the family to deposit the funds into their account.
