Five years ago, just two days after Easter, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer. It was the scariest time I can remember in my life—a marriage barely 18 months old, a four-month-old daughter, and so much uncertainty. With an incredible support system at my back, we faced it head on, and I completed treatment in September 2021. Thank you to my family and friends. The meals, the texts, even the #repsfortuni that trended on X for a few days, it all meant the world and gave me even more drive.

It is also not lost on me that I owe my life to scientific research. Testicular cancer once had a survival rate of about 60%, but today, thanks to the work of Dr. Lawrence Einhorn and so many other brilliant minds, that survival rate is now greater than 95%. The reality, however, is there are still millions of lives affected by cancer of all kinds every year, and not everyone is as fortunate and blessed as I am. This sticks with me every day. Survivor's guilt is something not many talk about, but it is very real. Five years into this journey, it's time to pay it forward and give back!

This fall, on October 3rd, I am going to attempt to cycle from Kansas City to St. Louis—all 285 miles—in under 24 hours! In doing so, I am raising money for The V-Foundation. Every dollar will go to scientists working to discover life-saving treatments and cures. Whether it's cheering me on or supporting this journey, know that I truly appreciate the help in my hopes to make a difference in the lives of those battling, just as you supported me five years ago!
