At Texas FReadom Fighters, we are about to begin our sixth year of speaking, writing, and working to support the freedom to read, all as a grassroots group.

In the last five years, we've spent countless hours watching board meetings, attending hearings, listening to educators and speaking at conferences on behalf of the freedom to read. As Texas now becomes the state in 2025-2026 with the most book bans in the country, our work is even harder.

Because we are unfunded, occasionally we need to ask for your help so we can continue the work. We of course never expected to find ourselves still fighting book bans five years later when we began this effort!

If you feel moved during Banned Books Week to continue to support us, we'd appreciate a donation. It'll be used to help pay for us to speak at conferences, print stickers or postcards, file public information requests, and it will help so we can keep supporting the freedom to read for students, not only here in Texas, but around the country.

We appreciate all the acts of courage, large and small, that so many in our community have taken, and we feel honored to get to speak up for the right to read.
