Supporting The Smith Family After Their Tragic Loss
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Jessica, and I’m so grateful you’re taking a moment to hear about the Smith family’s story.
On the morning of Wednesday, November 27th, tragedy struck Jennifer Smith, her mother Patsy, and her son DJ when a devastating fire engulfed their home in Bluefield, VA.
Patsy was injured in the fire and had to be airlifted to Wake Forest for treatment. After nearly two weeks in the hospital, she is now in a rehab facility, bravely working toward recovery.
Heartbreakingly, the Smith family rented their home, and they had no renter's insurance at the time of the accident. They lost several beloved family pets in the fire, and most of their possessions were destroyed. It’s been an incredibly challenging time as they come to terms with all they’ve lost.
Right now, Jennifer, Patsy, and DJ are exploring housing options and trying to rebuild their lives from scratch.
If you feel moved to help, any support you can give—whether through a donation or simply by sharing their story—would mean the world to them. Together, we can show them that they’re not alone in this journey.
Thank you so much for your kindness and compassion.
