Supporting the Schafers - Jennifer’s Road to Recovery
Donation protected
Last week, while undergoing a biopsy for a mass found on her left kidney, Jennifer suffered a stroke from a blood clot in her brain. She was life-flighted to Piedmont Atlanta for emergency brain surgery, where she beat all of the odds and pushed through. While we are all so thankful and lucky that she made it through surgery with minor complications, she is suffering some balance and vision impairments. She has a very long road of recovery ahead of her. Depending on the results of her biopsy, that road could get even longer.
She is still in ICU at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. She will soon be moving to a rehabilitation facility for extensive therapy to begin regaining her strength and walk on her own again.
As you can imagine all of this has taken a toll on the Schafer family. Jennifer is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who owns her own private practice. She has been married to her husband Chris for 14 years. They have 3 children (14, 11 and 4). She will not be able to work for quite some time. Her husband Chris has taken some leave from work to support the kids and keep their lives and schedules as normal as possible.
We are asking for help for the Schafer family to maintain and cover their household expenses and Jennifer's medical expenses until they are able to return to work and a normal life.
Anything is appreciated.
