We want to take this time to thank our friends, family and supporters for all the prayers, love and support through this time.
Peters cancer has now taken his whole large bowel, stomach lining and wall and lymph nodes. We are thankful the stomach itself is looking cancer free.
He is incredibly strong to go through so much so fast, and is still fighting. He is now being fed through a feeding pump and gaining strength back.
We are hopeful he will keep getting stronger and be able to attend and enjoy our youngest son’s wedding on Monday. (Possible day pass from hospital)
There is still a long hard path he’s facing, and doctors are aiming to get him strong enough for chemotherapy.
Your continued prayers and positive vibes are much appreciated during this hard time.

Dear potential donor:
I am writing this with the hope of receiving your support and prayers. My name is Peter Richardson and I am suffering from colon cancer and need surgery as soon as possible. I am humbly requesting your financial support in order to receive life saving treatment.
I was driving when my doctor called me and told me I should pull over. As I listened to him explain things and that I would need surgery right away, my mind flashed to my wife, Dale and the children Amy, Ryan, Sarah, Steven, Brandon and Justin and my 11 grandchildren as they are such a big part of my life.
My diagnosis of colon cancer came after many doctor visits and tests. In fact it was almost 8 months of doctor visits with multiple doctors until I was able to find the doctor that would run the test to eventually find the cancer.
During the past months and continuing forward, the weight loss and consistent pain in my stomach means at most times having no energy at all for even the most basic of things.
Having have lost over 100lbs so far and I continue to lose weight each week. I feel myself wasting away and don’t want to give up.
While I don’t have a family history of colon cancer and am only 57 years old, the tests and CT scan confirmed, I was diagnosed with cancer in the large bowel.
The wait for a surgery in Nova Scotia seems like forever.
I have been on the list and waiting for 4 months now still no one has contacted me to discuss any form of treatments or to discuss the surgery I need to survive.
Scared and suffering while waiting on doctors and simply unable to wait any longer without any guidance, I inquired to see when I would get a call for an appointment with the surgeon.
I was advised I may not get a call for months. The conversation left me wondering just how many more months would the surgery be following my initial appointment.
Will I survive that long ?
Like many Canadians in my same situation, Canadian healthcare has left us to wait and wither away or look to private medical treatment outside the Country.
With these funds, it will allow me the opportunity to receive my life saving surgery, out of country in a private treatment centre.
The costs are high. However to wait any longer is unbearable and life threatening.
I have been unable to work for the last few months and funds and savings are running out fast.
Financing this amount or borrowing is unfortunately not possible.
I am thankful for any help you may be able to give so I may have the chance to get back my quality of life and spend time with my loved ones and friends.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and considering to give a donation. It is truly greatly appreciated.
Also, if you could kindly share my fundraising link with your friends, it would mean so much. The more people hear about my situation the quicker I can reach my fundraising goal and kick cancer to the curb!
Sincerely, Peter J Richardson

Update August 21st 2022
Since we posted our go fund me page there has been no word from the surgeon and it feels
like a cruel joke on me.
My health has deteriorate, as I continue to lose weight to the point I don’t recognize myself anymore in the mirror.
I have become very irritated from being in such bad pain constantly and I have no appetite and am barely eating.
Living on three boosts a day with some fruit, I have no energy and sleep when I can through the pain.
I can not concentrate or stay focused long anymore. It’s just not much quality of life for me now.
Apparently I am entitled to free health care just not good or fast health care.
I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated to the go fund me page so far and also to the ones who have donated to my wife Dale and I personally it is amazing to see how many people care and have reached out to us ❤️
