Hi everyone, my name is Alanna Ferguson and I am creating this gofundme in hopes of alleviating some financial stress off of my dear cousins Kathleen and Brian Richardson.

Brian and Kathleen have been long-standing residents of Lake Ainslie and are two of the most genuine and caring people I know

Brian and Kathleen have always been two people who our community has been able to count on and they have supported many others around them who fell on hard times.

Unfortunately, they now require our help as a community due to Brian being recently diagnosed with dementia. He has been in hospital now for ten days and due to this new diagnosis the reality has set in that he will not be able to return to work which was always his plan. His EI in fact comes to an end next week. Due to Brian now requiring someone to be with him at all times, Kathleen will also have to terminate her employment providing home support fulltime. We are hoping as a community to raise funds that will help off-set the Richardson’s accumulating bills due to both Brian and Kathleen now being unable to work. They also do not have any medical coverage at this time so we would also be able to help cover the costs of Brian’s medications as well as cover any expenses for private home care that he may require when family are unable to provide this for him. The Richardson’s also have been dealing with ongoing issues with their van that Brian had been able to fix on his own but now he will not be able to do so which is another expense we can hopefully help them with.

Brian is due to be discharged potentially from hospital next week and his family are going to have to put safety measures in place such as dementia contact-Mat, door alert-system and AirTags just to name a few which all are quite costly.

We understand that times are tough for a lot of people and we would never want anyone to feel pressured to contribute by any means. Any and all support is truly appreciated from the bottom of our hearts.
