At Black Mountain Elementary School, we take great pride in being a school community that feels more like a family. Friends, one of family members is in need.

Jessica Pollicino has been a beloved member of the Bobcat Family for many years as have her 2 sons....both "graduating" from BMES and now students at Cactus Shadows. Earlier this week, after experiencing headaches, nausea and sudden hearing loss, Jessica took her youngest son, Nick, to urgent care. Immediately, they were referred to Phoenix Children's Hospital for further testing. That same evening, a scan came back with the devastating news of a brain tumor. Nick was rushed into invasive brain surgery early Tuesday morning.

Although definitive pathology is still forthcoming, it is clear, that the road ahead for Nick and the entire Pollicino family will be long and arduous. Medical bills will be high as a treatment plan is executed. We hope to help offset some of these costs, as well as allay other financial concerns, by wrapping our arms around this sweet family in this time of need.
