Hi, I’m Sandy Kasten, and I’m excited to support the first ever Nevada County Playwrights Collective Showcase! This event will feature short plays, monologues, and one-act plays, all written by western Nevada County playwrights and performed and directed by local theatre artists. Performance dates are June 25 through June 28, 2026 at the Miners Foundry in Nevada City.

The Showcase is a sponsored project of Play Café, Inc., a remarkable nonprofit dedicated to nurturing the creative voices of Northern California playwrights and composers. The event is funded in part by a grant from the California Arts Council, a state agency, through the Grass Valley-Nevada City Cultural District program—a partnership between Nevada County Arts Council, the City of Grass Valley, the City of Nevada City, the Greater Grass Valley Chamber and the Nevada City Chamber. This grant only covers a portion of the cost of presenting the Showcase. Your donation will help to pay the many costs of putting a show, from paying the artists and technicians to props, costumes, and insurance.
