Just a few short weeks ago the Needelmans' world was turned upside down. Experiencing fatigue for several weeks, Craig Needelman went to the doctor to have some blood work completed. Otherwise in good health there was seemingly no apparent reason Craig should have been feeling so tired and drained.
The very next day Craig got a call from the doctors office and was advised to immediately go to the hospital for an emergency blood transfusion due to a dangerously low hemoglobin count.........The medical team then started to investigate what could be causing the blood loss. After seeing, 6 different doctors, 10 different nurses, 4 pints of blood, The Needelmans' received the devastating news that Craig had Colon Cancer.
With no symptoms outside of the recent fatigue, the doctors suspected that the Colon Cancer had been so slow moving, growing for about two years. Craig was then scheduled for surgery a few days later. During the surgery doctors removed a tumor the size of his fist and approximately 8 inches of his colon. The tumor was attached to his abdominal wall. The lymph nodes that were around it look inflamed with possible cancer, but they won't know for sure until pathology reports come back.
Craig is currently recovering from his surgery but has a long road ahead with chemotherapy and other possible treatments going forward. Craig will be out of work for the unforeseeable future. Jen's income will also be reduced, as she assists Craig in his recovery. Craigs diagnoses and subsequent medical treatments have not only been distressing emotionally but have added a tremendous financial burden as well.
The Needelmans' need our support right now to get through this terrible illness. Any amount donated would be appreciated and helpful to offset these additional and very unexpected expenses. Prayers, good vibes and positive energy are also appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to read this, love and light.
