Supporting the mission at Rancho El Camino
Donation protected
Back in 2019, I had the opportunity to go on my very first mission trip. My Pastor, Pete Gatto, had founded an organization 15 years earlier named Rancho El Camino in La Paz, Mexico. I recall his stories of how it was 2 abandoned buildings with no roof, no running water, 10 miles into the Mexican desert when he had packed up his family of 5 from New Jersey and moved down to fulfill God's next chapter for their life. Hard to imagine what used to be if you watch the first 2 minutes of the video from our trip below.
When we got there I didn't know what to expect. Actually, to be honest, I thought I would be evangelizing in the streets with postcards in a language I didn't know. Thankfully that was not the case - Ha! Instead, we helped pour cement for what is now a secondary educational school. I would say the highlight though would be (other than the awesome beach day we had, also in the video ;) was when we got to play sports with the kids from the local neighborhood. You may not see it in there, but I hurled a beautiful 60-yard (okay probably more like 20), Brett Favre-like pass to a 10-year-old who never played Football before.
Overall, the experience was pretty profound, and I am very grateful for the opportunity to be going back for a 3rd time this May with my good friend Kevin. While I don't know what types of projects we will be doing, I am feeling led to help raise some financial support for their mission.
Rancho El Camino is a non-profit, run and operated by independent Christian missionaries, whose focus is to spread the love of Jesus, educate and equip the youth, and employ the local community. These employees help with the development and maintenance of the ranch and rely on this income to support their families. With 100% of the proceeds going to support their mission, I ask that you prayerfully consider giving, and or sharing as you feel led. Have a great day and God Bless!
