My name is Hadasa McFarland Dias and in 2018 I donated my hair to The Little Princess Trust, raising money for charity at the same time. Now, I’m doing it all over again - because I want to help put a smile on another little girl’s face.

The Little Princess Trust provides real-hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment. Something as simple as hair can give a child confidence, comfort and a sense of normality during an incredibly difficult time.

The reason I’m doing this for a second time is simple: I want to make a difference. If my hair can help one little girl feel happy and confident again, then it is completely worth it.

Cancer is something that has deeply affected my family’s life and the people around us. Both of my grandparents have played - and continue to play - huge roles in my life and I would do anything to have them both with me, healthy. My grandad sadly passed away from oesophageal cancer in 2014. My granny was diagnosed with lymphoma - and while she beat cancer, it has left her with lifelong effects that impact her day-to-day life. It has been extremely hard seeing her no longer be the strong, healthy woman she once was. I have also seen close family friends go through cancer, and I’ve witnessed firsthand the physical and mental toll it can take, not just on individuals but on entire families.

Cancer affects so many families, and if I can make even a small difference in someone’s life, then I know I’ve done something that truly matters.

I’m aiming to raise a minimum of £500, and I’ll be cutting my hair in April 2026. In the same month, all money raised will be sent directly to The Little Princess Trust.
