Help Us Finish What Imru Started: Art That Changes Lives

A Mother's Promise
In May 2025, we unexpectedly lost my son imru Currie-a brilliant artist and community builder who believed art could change the world. I'm his mother Gina, and I need your help to complete the work he poured his heart into.
Who was Imru
Imru had the curiosity of a child and saw endless possibilities in everyone he met. Born in Madison Wi, he brought his artistic vision to Chicago, blending pop culture, music and sports, to connect with people of all ages. He loved working with both youth and older adults, creating art like the video he created for my exercise instruction.
Imru lived by Harriet Tubman's words: "Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world".
In one of his journals, he diagrammed his dream advocating for children, domestic abuse survivors, and animals-causes that formed the foundation of the community he wanted to build through art.
What We're Finishing
Imru left behind unfinished works that need to be completed:
Instructional videos for movement and creative expression
Written works blending art with community advocacy. Storytelling projects celebrating pop culture and social change.
Community programs connecting youth older adults.
Your support will help us complete Imru's video series, publish his writings, and establish programs that continue his work with communities in Madison and Chicago.
How you can help
This isn't just about finishing projects, it's about honoring a young man who saw the world as it could be, not as it is.
Help me keep Imru's dream alive and finish what he started.
