Supporting the Haddadin family

Hello friends and family,
In 2011 My cousin Christina was diagnosed with severe Ulcerative Colitis when she was 11. Over the last 9 years she has battled the difficulties of an extreme auto immune disease until this year in August when a routine check up discovered what our family had been hoping never to see: that the inflammation had progressed and cancer was now in her colon. She was immediately scheduled for a full colectomy to remove her colon. A week after hearing this news, her father, Nick, was working in his office and suffered a massive stroke. He was found sometime later by one of his employees and rushed to the hospital where he was immediately admitted into ICU. He suffered aphasia (loss of speech) and the use of the right side of his body. Though conscious and able to recognize his family, he was and still remains unable to speak to them.
The past three months have proved extremely challenging for the entire Haddadin family. Battling insurance claims to provide the 24/7 intensive care Nick needs while also up keeping with Christina’s recovery, who underwent her 9 hour long colectomy surgery a month ago and is still recuperating as she experiences liver complications from her illness.
Nick will be discharged from his facility once his insurance coverage runs out on December 17th, where he will be released to his family and they will begin the transition to full care at home. The Haddaddin’s are currently in the process of moving to a more wheelchair accessible home in order to accommodate him. We are praying and hoping to alleviate any of the financial strain we can in this time to cover their many costs, as he was their main source of income. Here is what we are raising money for:
-additional in home care to supplement the minimal care provided by insurance, especially for the first few weeks
-The medical bills accumulated between both Nick and Christina these last few months
-Long term Rehab therapy for Nick as he works on gaining back mobility and speech ability
-Moving costs as they leave their home of 32 years due to it not being disability accommodating
I’ve seen what the love and support of a community can do for families in the midst of hardship, and our hope and prayer is to be able to relieve the financial burden as much as possible for the Haddadins. If you have the funds or time please consider donating or helping spread the word. Thank you!
