I’m sharing this fundraiser to support my dear friend Christen and her daughter, Analia, as they grieve the loss of Davon Glover, a husband, father, mentor, and someone who changed lives simply by believing in people.
Davon devoted his life to empowering young people and clearing paths for others through education, public service, and leadership. He believed deeply that access, dignity, and opportunity should never be privileges. He was one of the most impactful leaders I have ever known, not because of his title, but because of who people became under his leadership. Those who worked with him grew. They found their voice. They stepped into leadership themselves.
Davon’s own life was shaped by early trauma and immense challenge, and he carried that history honestly. He spoke openly about the weight of being a Black man in America, about the exhaustion of always being strong, always being responsible, always protecting others while holding his own pain quietly. He wanted us to do better, and he spent his life trying to make that better possible.
His company, Breaking Through LLC, was inspired by a drawing from a former student. It showed Davon breaking through brick walls so other young Black men wouldn’t have to. That image captures who he was. He was willing to take the impact. Willing to push first. Willing to clear the way.
Most of all, Davon loved being a father. His daughter, Analia, was his heart. Everything he dreamed about the future was connected to making the world safer, kinder, and more possible for her.
Funds raised will help cover funeral and memorial costs, support Analia’s care and education, and ease living expenses for Christen as she navigates this season of grief and transition. Thank you for honoring Davon’s life and legacy, and for holding his family with care. Your generosity helps carry forward the love and work he devoted his life to.
