Supporting the Fernhurst Centre

Our beautiful mum Maureen Gainey, received her treatment at St Richard’s Hospital, but it was the Fernhurst Centre, Chichester where she truly felt at home. The kindness, care, and comfort she experienced there meant everything to her. She always felt safe, supported, and never once dreaded attending her appointments.

In her honour, we want to give back to the Fernhurst Centre, just as they gave to our mum—with warmth, compassion, and care. Unfortunately, we’ve been informed that the hospital’s main charity, Love Your Hospital, does not directly allocate funds to the unit.

So, we have set up this GoFundMe page to ensure that 100% of the money raised goes directly to the Fernhurst Centre. Our goal is to purchase an item—such as a comfortable armchair or something meaningful—that will bring comfort to other patients going through treatment, just as Mum was comforted by the incredible staff and environment.

Instead of flowers, we kindly ask for donations to this fundraiser, so that we can honour Mum’s memory in a way that will continue to help others.

The Fernhurst Centre made Mum’s journey so much easier, and we want to pass on that same kindness to others in her memory. Any donation, big or small, would mean the world to us.
