On Friday, July 3, our Wethersfield community lost a beloved neighbor, Michael Dubil, who passed away unexpectedly.
Michael was originally from Ukraine and made Wethersfield, Connecticut his home. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Helena, and a loving father to his son, David, who currently attends Silas Deane Middle School and formerly attended Webb Elementary School, and his daughter, Veronika. His sudden passing has left his wife, Helena, and their children, David and Veronika, facing an unimaginable loss.
As their neighbors, we had known Michael for only several years, but it feels as though we lost a lifelong friend. He was always kind, polite, and quick to greet you with a smile. Michael loved spending time in his garage woodworking and could almost always be found outside tending to his yard or working on a project around the house. He took great pride in his home. He had such a friendly presence, and although he didn’t speak the best English, we always found a way to understand each other. His kindness transcended any language barrier, and he made a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
During this incredibly difficult time, we are coming together as a community to support Michael’s family. All donations will go directly toward funeral expenses and help ease the financial burden of everyday household bills as Helena, David, and Veronika navigate the days and months ahead.
No contribution is too small, and every donation, prayer, and message of support will mean so much to the family. If you are unable to donate, please consider sharing this fundraiser so we can reach others who may be able to help.
Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for keeping Helena, David, Veronika, and the entire Dubil family in your thoughts during this heartbreaking time.
