Invitation to stand with Paul and Rebecca Devakumar through their medical needs
We want to share with you an opportunity to support the medical need of Sister Rebecca Devakumar who is undergoing dialysis treatment. We have been SO richly blessed by our dear partners in Christ, Pastor and brother Paul and Sister Rebecca. Their ministry has faithfully planted over 300 churches in the hardest to reach parts of South Asia, under severe persecution and all led by the Spirit-filled, God-centered, dynamic efforts of indigenous leadership. Over the last 12 years, Highrock church has had the privilege of knowing this pioneering, faithful, obedient, steadfast and loving family who has paved the way the Kingdom of God to grow throughout India while also compassionately caring for the physical needs of those they serve. Over the years, Pastor Paul has also shared at Highrock numerous times and stayed in our homes. Although I could write A LOT about how amazing their ministry is, instead I want to appeal to you on the basis of their bond as our beloved brother and sister in Christ.
Over the last few years, Sister Rebecca has struggled with her kidney and has needed dialysis. Over the last year due to insufficient medical care in their local city they have needed to relocate temporarily to the USA for further intensive treatment. Their expenses from January – June will total about $10,000 for them to receive dialysis 3x a week. These expenses are those not covered by insurance. By God’s grace, they have been able to cover the costs of January- February and are trusting God for the rest. Their faith has been such a pillar for us for years, and this is a time of testing for them, in which we have an opportunity to stand with them. They have been very discreet about their need and have not wanted to publicize it in any way and for this reason we have chosen to share this need on their behalf, appealing to you as their family in Christ. Please give generously so that not only Sister Rebecca’s needs can be covered $10,000, but we are asking for an additional $3,000 to support them with other expenses.
Because this is a personal need, it cannot be received as a ministry expense, therefore you are not able to receive a tax-deductible receipt. This dear family has been an example to all of us and given throughout their entire lives so, so, so sacrificially and generously. Let’s bless them with a measure of abundance that God promises to us, “ A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. " Luke 6:38
