**Update (September 22, 2026)**

Sorry for the long pause in updates, but here is what we know;

Jeff is no longer undergoing chemotherapy or radiation.
It has been confirmed that the tumour has grown, which is beginning to affect Jeff’s speech and mobility. Jeff is currently waiting on a specialty MRI, done in Saskatoon, to see exactly how much of the Glioblastoma is affecting these areas. Depending on the MRI outcome, there may be a chance for a debulking surgery, which could give Jeff more time to spend with his family and friends.

Thank you again for your support, and please continue to send positive vibes and prayers to Jeff and his family.

**Update on Jeff’s diagnosis**

Jeff has been diagnosed with Glioblastoma (an aggressive, cancerous brain tumour).
Jeff will be starting a very intensive treatment plan, including both chemotherapy and radiation on January 7th.
Please continue sending positive vibes and thoughts to The Cushway’s.

**Update from Heather**

Jeff and I got home a week ago. He is healing nicely and trying to relax (very hard for someone that usually is busy). We are patiently and not so patiently waiting for the pathology report to come back and figure out our next steps.
We would like to thank everyone that has donated, stopped by for coffee, and all the text messages. We are grateful to have everyone for sending positive thoughts and prayers our way.
We will keep moving forward one foot in front of the other and take each step head on!! ❤️❤️

On November 22, Jeff was rushed to the General Hospital in Regina after suffering a seizure while shopping. Shortly after being admitted spots were found on Jeff’s brain.

On November 27, after spending 4 days at the hospital, Jeff required brain surgery to remove cancerous tumours in his brain. Only 60-70% of the tumours were able to be removed, and they will be highly likely to continue to grow.

Jeff and his family are now back home, with many unanswered questions as they wait for the biopsy to return.

The only “knowns” are that Jeff has a long recovery time with rigorous medical treatments still to come. Jeff is unable to return to work for weeks and possibly months. Jeff’s wife, Heather, will need to take time off during this first recovery process and again when medical treatments begin.

Those closest to Jeff, Heather, and their boys, Braydon and Riley, know that the Cushway’s are familiar with fighting and surviving through health scares and will continue to do so now.

Money raised through this campaign will go directly towards lost work time (of both Jeff and Heather) and other expenses that may incur as Jeff receives future medical treatment and recovers.
