The year 2020 ended with some upsetting news that one of our friends was diagnosed with an aggressive form of liver cancer. Hence, the reason why we are establishing this GO FUND ME page with a focus on assisting a great family as they enter the most difficult time of their life. To explain the circumstances that Jason and Diane Cusack are confronted with, it is time for us to present their story.
Diane and Jason have been together for over 14 years, recently celebrating their 13th year wedding anniversary in October. Diane and Jay are the loving parents of two beautiful girls! Maia, their youngest, who is 11 and attends North Haven Middle school in the 6th grade. Prior to COVID virus creating a worldwide pandemic, Maia was playing Lacrosse and loved her weekly horseback riding lessons! McKayla their oldest, has been accepted and committed to pitch for Bridgewater State. Currently she is finishing up her senior year at Lauralton Hall. Diane is a dedicated, and ever present mother who is a natural at loving and caring for her children. Recently she's quoted as being the luckiest stepmother in the world for being able to watch her step daughter grow into an accomplished woman; being proud, devoted and dedicated to her children are her utmost goals in life.
Diane is loved by all; her inviting personality draws you in and her infectious smile will captivate you before you know it. She is a dedicated, well versed, and proven employee of Yale University. Working in Jonathan Edward College, Diane is responsible for a lot of the day to day success that makes their wonderful college great and has made friends with all whom she has the privilege to work alongside.
Diane’s husband Jason, is a dedicated 16-year career Lieutenant in the Town of North Haven, CT Fire Department, having previously served 10-years for the Town of Branford, CT as a professional telecommunicator and volunteer firefighter. Jay has been involved in many non-profit organizations as it has been an honor for being a caring philanthropists. For 11-years through Jason's involvement with the New Haven County Firefighters Emerald Society (Bass Drummer), he and Diane successfully ran 11-years of St. Baldrick’s Day events in New Haven County which raised nearly $1,000,000 for children's cancer research.
Diane and Jason are both loving and open people who wear their hearts on their “sleeve” (tattoos). As a couple, they are very honest on Facebook and share their lives with their friends, especially through beloved kitchen parties. The loving couple have a network that spreads far and wide; whether it be a firefighter, an employee of Yale, their extended work families or friends from Branford, North Haven or basically all around New Haven County. They are privileged to still have cherished childhood, school aged and college friends that are second to none.
Diane and Jay were born from loving and caring families who have taught then to be kind, loving and live their lives through respect. Their parents mean the world to them and they are known by so many across the region. It is through this insight and guidance that has brought this couple to this stage in their lives. Each have tremendous sibling support which extends far beyond brother or sisterhood; this relationship is more like best friends and is a gift they are extremely grateful for.
Diane and Jason are in love; they are best friends and depend on each other day in and day out and there is nothing either one would not do for each other. They have a wonderful unperfect marriage, but try their hardest to be each other’s "True Companion "! At the end of the day, they always promised to love each other more than the day before.
So to that point and the prime reason for the “GO FUND ME” project, Jason’s love Diane, was recently diagnosed with a very rare, aggressive cancer called Hepatic Cholangiocarcinoma. Presently Diane is receiving aggressive treatment and surgery is questionable. All their friends, co-workers and colleges’ are praying that Diane can beat the odds and live by love, beg our Lord and Savior for a miracle, allowing the chemotherapy to heal Jay’s wife, Diane to survive this life-altering event and remain a great mother and step-mother to the girls.
With that said, you can see the Cusack’s have dedicated themselves to a life of public safety and helping others. Now it’s time to help them! As friend’s to Jay and Diane, it is apparent that they must concentrate on what matter’s the most while “normal business” becomes secondary. However, as their daily life changes they will need everyone’s help to survive this catastrophic situation. In closing, we sincerely appreciate your assistance in helping them travel through the struggle of their life with a level of confidence demonstrated by the generosity from their friends.
Thank You,
Bill Seward & Elie (Seward) Riccitelli
