Bob will have brain surgery (craniotomy with tumor excision) on April 24th to remove a tumor that is growing and compressing the brain, causing multiple daily seizures while awake and asleep. This procedure requires a 3 month recovery where he will not be able to work.
Back in 2010 Bob was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer (lymphoma) in both eyes, neck, lungs, and liver. After 6 tough months of strong chemo (R-CHOP) and eye reconstructive surgeries, miraculously, he was cancer-free for 13 years!!
Then, in 2023 Bob's eye cancer returned, this time with a brain mass. He had surgery and radiation for the eye, but we, along with his neurosurgical oncologist, chose to watch it closely with MRIs every 6 months. Bob began having seizures as the tumor grew and began to compress the brain which made watchful waiting no longer an option and this extensive surgery necessary.
Thank you for reading our story and for supporting our family as we walk through this scary time.
