Supporting the Children of Beloved Enid Teacher Kendra Smith After Tragic Loss

Our community is heartbroken over the tragic loss of Kendra Smith, a beloved mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend.

Kendra was a dedicated educator who poured her heart into the students she taught and the people around her. She was known for her kindness, her willingness to help anyone who needed it, and the deep love she had for her family. Nothing meant more to her than being a mom and “Lovie” to her grandchildren.

In the hours since this tragedy, many of Kendra’s children’s friends, former students, and members of the community have reached out asking how they can help. Several of them specifically asked if a fundraising campaign could be started to support Kendra’s children during this unimaginable time. Like so many of us, they feel heartbroken and at a loss for what to do, but they want to do something to help.

Kendra leaves behind her loving family who are now navigating the devastating loss of their mother/grandmother.

In the midst of overwhelming grief, they are also facing unexpected expenses and the difficult reality of moving forward without their mom.

This fundraiser has been created so that those who loved Kendra — her friends, former students, and our community — have a way to come alongside her children and family. Funds raised will go toward funeral expenses and help provide support for the family as they navigate the difficult days ahead.

Kendra spent her life caring for others and making a difference in the lives of her students and the people around her. Now it is our turn to surround her family with the same kindness and support she so freely gave.
