Supporting the Chamberlain Family

My brother-in-law, Jim Chamberlain, was diagnosed in early August with Stage 4 esophageal cancer that metastasized to his trachea. He has been receiving truly incredible care at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota—over five hours from home. This journey has been deeply personal for their family, and until now, they have asked for nothing more than prayers. If you know Jim, you know a man who has always been the provider, the protector, and the one others lean on. He is a devoted and proud father to three beautiful children—Josh (11), Hailey (9), and Myla (5). Jim has always carried life’s burdens quietly, with unwavering strength. He is a man of strong faith and determination and will never stop fighting. By his side through every step is his incredible wife, Chayne. For the past nine months, their family has done everything possible to walk through this diagnosis privately and faithfully. Jim’s faith in God has always been the foundation of his life and his family, and it continues to carry all of us through each step ahead. Jim has endured six months of chemotherapy, grueling radiation, and many long hospital stays. Recently, after surgery, we received incredible news—his cancer biopsies came back negative. The surgeon even called it “remarkable.” We truly believe this is a reflection of God’s hand at work and the power of so many prayers being lifted up. However, Jim’s journey took a sudden turn on April 19th. He is now battling serious complications following a surgical attempt. His lungs required emergency repair, and he is currently on life support, fighting for his life in the ICU. While we are seeing small, hopeful signs each day, this remains a critical and uncertain time. Being over five hours from home while a loved one fights for their life brings a financial burden we could never have prepared for. Between constant 10-hour round trips, extended lodging in Rochester, mounting ICU and medical expenses, and caring for three young children who simply want their parents home, we have reached a point where we need the support of our community. We believe God works through His people—through love, generosity, and showing up for one another in life’s heaviest moments. We are humbly asking for support to help bridge the gap while Jim continues this fight to return home to the family who loves him so deeply. The family has been told it will be a long and difficult road ahead, extending his time in Minnesota by months, not days. Donations will go toward:
• Travel and lodging so loved ones can remain by his side
• ICU and recovery-related expenses, as both Jim and Chayne are currently unable to work
• Supporting the daily needs of their three children
• Long-term support as they face whatever comes next
Most importantly, your generosity will help give Jim, Chayne, Josh, Hailey, and Myla the ability to focus on what matters most right now—being together, holding onto hope, and pouring their love into one another. It is with heavy but hopeful hearts that we ask for your help. If you are unable to give financially, we ask for your continued prayers—for healing over Jim’s lungs, for strength in his body, and for peace that surpasses all understanding. Sharing this message also means more than we can express. We are holding tightly to our faith and believe that one day soon, Jim will walk back through his front door into the arms of his wife and children. We trust that God has another miracle with Jim’s name on it. ❤️
