Supporting the Blaha’s Hurricane Ian

(Posted on behalf, and permission of, Kyle and Jamie Blaha. They lived in my neighborhood when my family was affected by a tragedy and were incredibly helpful in our road to recovery. The following message is from Jamie.)

I don’t even know where to start. Our family moved from Hudson, WI to Cape Coral, FL a little over 3 years ago, when Kyle was transferred from Aramark. We have made a wonderful life for our family. We all have wonderful jobs and it’s a tight community. On September 28th we took a long direct hit by the eye wall of Hurricane Ian (the longest day of our lives). Our home has a lot of damage, and while we have insurance, our deductible is $7,040 and may not cover all that was lost. As many of you know, Kyle is in sales, and his significant customers were also devastated by Ian. We have no idea when our lives will return to normal. Right now, we are living off a small generator, pool water to flush toilets, bottled water and faith. We are the last family to ask for help but never expected a direct hit from a category 4 hurricane. We know things could have been much worse. We are sending our love from Florida.
