Supporting the best dad!

Hello! First, I'd like to thank anyone reading this for taking the time to open this link and consider donating to something very important to me. I am not one to share things like this on social media, nor is my family however when it is necessary, it is good to ask for support. My dad was diagnosed with cancer, T Cell Lymphoma, 14 years ago. Through out of my young and adult life, I have watched him battle a disease that he could not be less deserving of. I know it's a cliche but to know him is to love him. A patient, kind, hard-working guy who has done nothing but try to live a loving, healthy life. What started as radiation, became chemotherapy treatments for years. Those then became experimental and now we have reached a bone marrow transplant. I'm unsure of the exact stress, feelings, anxiety, worry my dad feels but I know as his daughter, those emotions are overwhelming for me, so I am creating this to show support in any way I can. On December 1st, my dad will travel an hour and a half to UVA to begin the process of his bone marrow transplant. Here, he will spend (hopefully) a month, undergoing the process of completely wiping out his immune system so his body can accept this transplant and then begin work to rebuild being healthy again. Throughout this process, he will receive a port, he will not only undergo the transplant but also will continue chemotherapy. His environment will be sterile, new shoes, new/clean clothes, masks for visitors, showers every day, only freshly prepped, hot meals. As he improves towards the end of the month, he will be able to leave the hospital however he must stay within a 30-minute distance, (which he does not live in) in case of emergency, as well as he will be required to visit daily at first. As time goes on, visits will decrease to multiple times a week, then weekly and so on. This process continues for at least 3 months, which means my dad and his family/friends must find a place to stay for the entire process. This does not stop his life or bills at home for himself or his wife. My dad has reached out to UVA for guidance on finding lodging, they have suggested him organizations that offer free stays for those undergoing medical processes, however those will be full when he needs them. He has contacted insurance to see what cost-effective suggestions they may have, as well as what monetary support they can offer. He's browsed hotels, air bnb's and myself and the rest his family have reached out via social media pages looking for people/places who offer lodging to find all of our options. As he continues to search for a comfortable place to undergo all of this, the expenses continue to add up. Although I am sure he would love to, he will not be able to work this entire time. While the doctor knows for a fact this will last for 3 months, he will be out of work for as long as 6 months and possibly an entire year. His wife, kids, dad, siblings, and friends will all be traveling to support and care for him. His food must be prepped and cooked daily, no leftovers or take out. Dishes have to be sanitized, no handwashing. Clothes fresh and clean everyday as well. All of these things have been doctor recommended to ensure he can become healthy and back to himself as soon as possible. So, I write this for anyone who has the means or wishes to support him in any way they can. No amount is too little, and the support is appreciated more than you know.
