It breaks our hearts to share that our family experienced an unimaginable loss this week. On December 2nd, 2025, my sister-in-law, Veronica Barbosa, suffered a sudden and complicated miscarriage. What began as a medical emergency quickly turned into every family’s worst nightmare. Before life-saving treatment could be administered, she passed away at the age of 38.

She leaves behind her husband, John Barbosa 37, and their three children ages 11, 9, and 8, who are now facing life without their mother. John, who just days ago was working full-time to support his family, is now navigating the unbearable pain of losing his wife while stepping into the role of a full-time single parent overnight.

A funeral is being held on December 5th, but the journey ahead for John and the kids is long and overwhelming. Between funeral expenses, loss of income, and the sudden need for childcare, emotional support, and stability for the children, this family is now carrying a weight no one could ever prepare for.
