Supporting Terry Hazzard’s Final Journey Home

It is with tremendous sadness that we share the passing of Terry Hazzard on June 26, 2025. Terry was a devoted father, and a loving and cherished husband to Andrea for 26 years. He was a bright light and a gentle soul who brought joy, kindness, and generosity to so many people’s lives.

Terry embodied the sentiment: “To know him was to love him.” His presence left a lasting imprint on the hearts of those who knew him—from the Marshall Islands, Hawai‘i, Florida, and New York, to Milwaukee, Antigua, and beyond. His spirit lives on through his sons, Sebastian (18) and Dante (8), and in the love he shared with Andrea and all who called him family or friend.

In anticipation of the many transitions Andrea and the boys will face in the coming days, weeks, and months, a small group of Andrea’s friends are organizing this fundraiser on their behalf. We know she will appreciate any support that can be offered to help her and their families celebrate Terry’s life and also to return him home to the Marshall Islands to be put to rest.

Honoring Terry’s Final Journey Home

In Marshallese culture, mourning the passing of a loved one is both sacred and communal. Andrea and the boys are working to honor Terry’s wishes in a way that reflects his heritage and spirit. They hope to hold services in Hawai‘i and return Terry to his cherished home—Likiep Atoll—where he may be laid to rest beside his mother, father, and brother, on the island of his childhood that shaped him.
