We, the Rempel Family, are reaching out on behalf of our sister and dear friend, Teena Cole, who is facing an urgent medical crisis that requires immediate intervention to prevent permanent paralysis.

Several years ago, Teena was involved in a serious car accident that permanently altered her health. The severe whiplash reversed the natural curvature of her cervical spine, leading to ongoing disc compression, chronic pain, and increasing loss of function. In recent months, her condition has progressed rapidly. She has begun losing feeling in her hand and arm, and without timely surgical intervention, doctors have warned that permanent paralysis is imminent. As a mom and grandmother, she desires to remain involved and active in their lives for many years to come.

If you know Teena, you likely wouldn’t know the extent of her suffering. She is strong, faithful, and selfless—always placing the needs of others before her own. Even in pain, she continues to serve, encourage, and care for those around her. As she has so faithfully stood in the gap for many, we now ask others to stand in the gap for her.

Sadly, the appropriate surgical solution is not available to her in Canada. The only option offered here is permanent spinal fusion, with a lengthy wait time. Having lost her husband to cancer three years ago and now living on her own, spinal fusion would severely limit her independence and ability to continue her calling. Delaying treatment further risks irreversible damage.

But we are trusting God—because there is hope.

Teena has been accepted for a highly successful disc replacement surgery at ONZ Spine Solutions Clinic in Germany, and by God’s grace, surgery is scheduled for February 24th! This procedure offers a strong prognosis, with the expectation of restoring function and preventing paralysis. We are deeply thankful for this door that the Lord has opened.

The remaining obstacle is financial. Teena serves faithfully in her full-time role as a pastor, but the cost of international surgery, travel, and recovery is far beyond what she can carry alone.
