For those of you who are fortunate to know Tanya Rose know how much she loves her family, friends and life in General. As a single mother of 3 children Tanya is their sole provider. Tanya’s life changed forever in August 2016 when she was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. She immediately started chemo, and had a mastectomy to remove the affected breast. As a single mother you can imagine how difficult life can be at times, when you throw a cancer diagnosis into the mix you really understand what the word difficult means. All of Tanya’s immediate family live out of province limiting her support circle to friends, relatives and coworkers. Tanya was surrounded by love and pulled herself through the toughest situation she had ever been in. It was not easy as Tanya was forced to return to work while she was undergoing treatments to provide for her family. There were days where she would shovel herself out of her driveway, drive herself to chemo, then come home to cook supper for her kids then have to drive 45 minutes to work. This is just wrong on so many levels. But Tanya being the strong, determined woman that she is did all of this with a smile upon her face all for the love of her children. After being cancer free for just 3 months Tanya began having back pain, it was then it was discovered that the cancer was back and had spread to her spine. Tanya underwent 25 radiation treatments, many times driving herself into St. John’s for treatment and while continuing to work as she had exhausted all sick benefits. Tanya soon found a lump in her other breast and started to experience more back pain. Tanya’s worst fears came true when she was again diagnosed with Breast Cancer but this time it had spread to her spine, ribs, shoulder and fermur bones. She is now Stage 4. Tanya worked right up until the day before her latest chemo and was supposed to go to work the next day however she was much to Ill to go. She has since managed to do a few shifts when she is able. Nobody should have to work while receiving cancer treatment in order to survive. But so many people find themselves in situations like Tanya’s where they literally have no other choice. The funds raised here will go directly to Tanya to help with living expenses for her and her children. Hopefully we can raise enough money so that she can take time off from her job to finish her chemo and to heal. For those of you who would prefer to send an emt directly to Tanya her email address is [email redacted] password: helptanya. As well if anybody would like to send along a meal or gift card I am sure it would be very much appreciated. Kerry Bishop from Bay Roberts has offered to pick any donations up and deliver to Tanya. Thank you so much everyone for all your help and continue to pray for Tanya and her family. ❤️
