Supporting Tammy & Kent

If you know Tammy and Kent, you know they are the most generous, hospitable, kind people you will ever meet. The open-hearted way they live their lives has encouraged countless others to do the same. Their community now has the opportunity to give back to them as they walk through several ongoing hardships.

After years of searching for answers, Kent has been diagnosed with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. PSP is a rare, aggressive, neurological disease with no cure. This diagnosis has turned Tammy and Kent's world upside down and has been financially devastating among many other painful realities.

After many months, we continue to wait for Kent's disability benefits to be approved and after those benefits are approved, there will still be a two year wait for him to qualify for Medicare. The cost of insurance premiums alone is significant.

In addition to Kent's diagnosis, the Stallcups are getting ready to move back into their house after a severe house fire this past fall. Due to no fault of their own, their house was underinsured, which has left a financial gap in meeting their needs as they put their home back together.

This fund is being managed by Tammy and Kent's daughters, Holly and Amanda. We will keep our community updated here on how your donations are being used to help our parents be less exhausted and more comfortable.

We hope that our $20,000 goal will carry our mom and dad through the end of 2024. Helping them with medical bills, assistance around the house and with our dad's care and the costs of moving back into their home and refurnishing their space.

As Kent becomes sicker, getting out of the house will become more difficult. We are also doing everything we can to keep Dad at home throughout the progression of his PSP. Any donations left after meeting the needs above, will be put towards making our parents' back patio and yard a wheelchair accessible, beautiful space.

Our hope is that our parents backyard can become a place that brings them joy and rest. Additionally, a patio remodel will create a place where our dad can get plenty of fresh air and a place where our family can spend time together as we enjoy our cherished days with Dad.

Tammy and Kent made the choice long ago to not store up excess wealth believing that their job was to meet the needs in front of them and trust that when they had needs God would provide. Thank you for helping us prove their radical way of thinking right.
