If you know our family, you know how much we love Amelia. She is my daughter Aryia’s very best friend — a bright, brave little girl who has already faced more than most adults ever will. In the last 80 days, Amelia has been hospitalized five times, and she is currently intubated in the ICU fighting harder than any child should ever have to.

Her family has been in our lives for over 10 years, and they are truly some of the most humble, selfless people you will ever meet. They never ask for help. Ever. But right now… they need us.

Hospital life is draining in every possible way — emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. Amelia’s mom is trying to hold everything together while watching her daughter fight for her life, and the weight she is carrying is impossible to describe. From sleepless nights beside a hospital bed, to missed work, to meals on the go, gas back and forth, and the emotional toll of living in survival mode… it all adds up.

Most importantly, Amelia has missed so much of her childhood because she’s been stuck in a hospital room instead of being a kid, playing with her friends, or enjoying school. No child deserves that.
