My name is Laura Stafford, and I am setting up this GoFundMe for Steven Dalton, a much-loved friend of ours who has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour.
Steven and his family are facing an incredibly difficult and uncertain time. While there is currently no cure for his diagnosis, there are new treatment approaches being explored, and there is hope.
Steven has now been accepted into a clinic in Germany offering experimental immunotherapy, and further testing is being carried out on his tumour to help determine the best possible treatment plan for him.
We want to make sure Steven
and his family have every opportunity to explore the options available to them.
The cost of treatment in Germany is estimated to be around €200,000, an enormous financial burden for any family to face.
We are raising funds to help ease the financial burden that comes with accessing treatment abroad, including travel, accommodation, medical-related expenses and the additional costs that Steven and his family may face along the way.
As testing continues and his treatment plan develops, we don’t yet know exactly what lies ahead or where the financial support will be needed most. However, all funds raised will go directly to Steven and his family, giving them the flexibility and security to focus on his treatment and on being together.
Our hope is simply to give Steven the best possible opportunities, while taking away some of the financial worry for him and his family during this incredibly challenging time.
Any donation, big or small, would mean so much. And if you’re not in a position to donate, sharing this fundraiser would be just as appreciated.
All donations raised through this fundraiser will be transferred directly to Steven's wife, Aoife Harnett - who will manage the funds to support Steven's treatment and his family's needs.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness, generosity and support.
