Steph, just 43, is currently critically ill in hospital.
On 3rd April, after experiencing a severe headache, she followed advice from NHS 111 and took herself to hospital. She was diagnosed with a brain abscess and transferred for emergency surgery. Since then, she has undergone further operations and remains in intensive care.
Everything has changed in a matter of days. For her family and friends, this has come completely out of the blue, and they are now facing an incredibly uncertain time.
Steph is one of the strongest people you could meet — and an amazing mum. Her children are the centre of her world, and she has always been the one holding everything together.
She is also someone who has always given back. Steph is a passionate supporter of charitable causes and her local community, regularly contributing to community grocery projects at Christmas and Easter. Just last month, she completed a 100k hiking challenge to raise money for stillborn babies — a reflection of the kind of person she is.
Right now, her children are navigating the unthinkable: their mum in intensive care, and life suddenly feeling very different overnight.
The family have also been advised that, while everyone is hoping for the best possible outcome, it is likely Steph will face a level of long-term impact from this illness. Life is expected to look very different for them moving forward, and the full picture is still unfolding.
This page has been set up to give them some stability during this time — to help cover everyday living costs and allow them the space to focus on what matters most: being there for their mum.
There is no expectation — but if you are in a position to contribute, it will make a real and immediate difference. And if not, sharing this page helps more than you might realise.
Above all, this is about making sure Steph and her family feel supported, surrounded, and not alone in this.
For anyone wishing to set up additional fundraising events or offer further support, the family have kindly asked that all communication is directed through Telford Community Support. Telford Community Support are organising this fundraiser on the family’s behalf and can be contacted via Facebook on the 'TCS ADMIN' page. This is to allow the family the space they need during this incredibly difficult time, as they focus all of their energy on supporting Steph.
Thank you for your kindness and for keeping Steph in your thoughts
