Hi, my name is Trina Dova and our family is asking for prayers and support for my sister, Tara.

Tara is a breast cancer survivor and had believed she was cancer-free for the past three years. Recently, she began experiencing nagging and worsening back and hip pain. After several medical tests, we received the heartbreaking news that the cancer has returned. Further testing has shown that it is more widespread in her body than initially thought.

She just had surgery this morning to both perform a biopsy to determine the exact type of cancer, treatment plan, and prognosis, and to stabilize her femur, which has been weakened by the cancer and was at risk of fracturing during normal day-to-day activities.

In addition to prayers, her family is in need of financial support to help with food, groceries, meals, and everyday needs for Tara’s children — but most importantly to help cover mounting medical expenses related to hospitalization, surgery, and future treatments such as chemotherapy or radiation. The length of her hospital stay and the full scope of treatment are still unknown at this time. Once surgery is complete, doctors are hopeful that starting radiation will provide much-needed pain relief — something Tara has been struggling with greatly. And once the biopsy results are back, treatment and prognosis will be determined.
