Due to the abundance of love, support, and concern we have been receiving on behalf of Stacey, we have collectively decided it would be very beneficial to start her and her children a GoFundMe account.
On Sunday, June 30th Stacey was involved in a very unfortunate accident that resulted in an immeasurable amount of trauma. She was rushed to Baystate Medical Center where she spent five days in the ICU and another five days in the South Wing.
She sustained 3 broken ribs, 2 fractured ribs, a bilateral pelvic fracture (4 fractures in total), a lacerated bladder, significant damage to her female reproductive system, and her lower intestine and colon required a partial resection.
She underwent three complex surgeries to repair her internal organs and pelvis. She has an external pelvic fixation for the next 4-8 weeks and will forever live with a plate holding her pelvis intact. It will be 2-3 months before she will start to walk again.
On Wednesday afternoon, July 10th she was relocated to a rehab facility where she will spend the next 3-6 weeks. She will spend several hours a day with physical and occupational therapists learning to overcome the limitations and obstacles of her injuries.
She will then receive 24/7 in-home care until she is fully functional on her own. Her home will need to be modified to make it wheelchair accessible.
To say she has a very long road ahead of her is an understatement. Thankfully she remains positive and is focusing on healing and doing whatever it takes to get back to her kiddos.
Anyone who has ever met Stacey knows how remarkable and selfless she is. She has always put her family, especially Mia and Landon, above all else. She is genuine, compassionate, and hard working. She has dedicated herself to her children, ensuring she provides them with the best possible life. We often refer to her as “Super Mom” as most could only do a fraction of what she does on a daily basis. She truly is an amazing woman and an inspiration to so many.
Right now, regardless of her pride and normal inability to ask for help, she needs us-ALL OF US. We want to take some of the financial hardship that she is burned with away so she can continue to focus on her wellbeing.
We do not want Mia and Landon to suffer anymore as a result of this tragedy. Temporarily taking the center of their universe out of their daily life and routine is more than enough for these two young children. We want them to continue to participate in their summer camps and extracurricular activities while their mom is healing.
Any amount contributed will be greatly appreciated and not overlooked. If you are unable to donate monetarily, we ask that you continue to keep Stacey in your thoughts and prayers.
A very special thank you to the army of family and close friends that have gone above and beyond to ensure Mia and Landon are being taken care of during this time. Your generosity is priceless.
