For 40 years, our beloved St Christopher Camp and Conference Center has been a stalwart anchor for Christians, including the Cursillo Community in the lower part of the state, hosting over 5000 Cursillistas. Anyone associated with what is now the SC Anglican Fourth Day Cursillo ministry knows what sacred ground this beautiful place is and how God has blessed generations of believers through St. Christopher's overwhelming gift of hospitality.
Now, due to the coronavirus pandemic, St. Christopher is in unprecedented financial jeopardy. Director Fr. Bob Lawrence has informed the Anglican Diocese of South Carolina that with widespread cancellations, $800,000 in revenue vanished nearly overnight. The Center cannot sustain paying the staff and is in peril of closing down.
SC Anglican Fourth Day Cursillo's Weekend #189 in July is one of the cancellations. We would like to pay St. Christopher the $6000 cancellation fee. Please, let's give back and help right this flagship of Christian gatherings in the Lowcountry. We will be blessing generations to come. From donations, our Treasurer will cut a single check to St. Christopher. Any funds in excess of $6000 will be placed in our Joy of Giving Fund (JOG) account which is used to offset the cost to future participants desiring to attend a Cursillo weekend.
