Our family is reaching out with heavy hearts to ask for support for my beautiful sister-in-law, Sophie, and her husband, Mark, who are currently facing an unimaginable journey. Just a few weeks ago, Sophie was diagnosed with breast cancer, and she is currently 15 weeks pregnant.
What should be a joyful time preparing to welcome a new baby has turned into a whirlwind of uncertainty. On top of fighting for her own health, Sophie is fighting for her baby’s, too.
Because Sophie has not yet completed her internship in order to begin working full-time, she doesn't qualify for maternity leave benefits, adding an enormous financial burden to an already overwhelming situation.
This GoFundMe has been set up to help cover:
• Medical and treatment-related expenses not covered by insurance
• Basic living expenses while she undergoes chemotherapy
• Support for the baby once born
• Transportation, groceries, and other day-to-day needs while she is unable to work
Every donation, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping Mark and Sophie focus on healing and preparing for parenthood without the added stress of financial hardship.
