Supporting Smith family Through Cancer, Job Loss, and Flood

I'm writing to you today from a place of immense struggle and urgent need. My name is Rob, and I'm a devoted father to my incredible children: 3 adult daughters, 6 grown stepchildren, and my 4-year-old son/savior. I'm also a devoted husband to my partner of 12 years. Life has thrown our family an unimaginable series of challenges recently, and we desperately need your support to get back on our feet.

The Triple Whammy: Cancer, Job Loss, and a Flooded Home

Just 4 months ago, my world was turned upside down when I received the devastating diagnosis of metastatic stomach cancer. This news immediately led to me being out of work as I began medication and treatment. The focus shifted entirely to fighting for my health, and the financial strain of losing my income was immediate and severe.

As if battling cancer and managing its arduous treatments wasn't enough, our family was dealt another cruel blow just 6 weeks ago, and then again even worse last night. Our home, our sanctuary, was severely damaged by unforeseen flooding. The water ruined our vehicles, mowers, pool, motorcycle, and kids' toys—basically anything outside that wasn't tied down. It also tore up the plumbing and electric under the house, and of course, the central heating and cooling unit, making parts of our house uninhabitable and requiring extensive repairs that we simply cannot afford.

With one limited income coming in from my partner due to my illness, and now facing the overwhelming costs of home and car repairs, we are in a truly desperate situation. My primary focus needs to be on healing and being there for my children, but the constant worry about our financial stability and living situation is immense.
