It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we share the tragic and devastating loss of Skip Van (54) and Tiffany Chu (47), who were killed in a car crash in Elk Grove, California, on June 1, 2026.

According to authorities, juveniles fleeing from law enforcement at a high rate of speed ran a red light and collided with Skip and Tiffany’s vehicle, taking both of their lives instantly. In a matter of seconds, an ordinary day became an unimaginable tragedy that has forever changed the lives of their family, friends, and loved ones. Most heartbreakingly, four children lost both of their parents. No family should ever have to endure such tragedy, and no child should have to face a future without the love, guidance, and support of their mother and father. No amount of compensation or relief can ever make up for the great loss we have suffered.

Skip and Tiffany were devoted, hardworking parents who dedicated their lives to their family and community. Skip spent more than 30 years working at his family’s business, Gold Star Supermarket, where he served as a respected manager and built lasting relationships with customers and community members alike. Tiffany devoted more than 20 years of her career to caring for others as a medical assistant with Sutter Health. She was known for her warmth, vibrant spirit, and ability to brighten any room she entered. Together, Skip and Tiffany created a loving home built on kindness, generosity, and unwavering support for their children.

As the family faces this devastating loss, we are raising funds to help provide immediate and long-term support for their four children. Donations will assist with:
