As some of you may know already, our friend and ex-colleague Simon and his family have been going through a very difficult time with the sudden and rapid decline in Janet’s health due to Parkinson's disease and Dementia which was diagnosed in 2023 .

The challenges Simon has had to surmount with Janet’s diagnosis, numerous doctor and hospital visits, treatment and care have been punishing. With Maria at University both Simon and Peter have been Janet’s primary carers at home with outside support from time to time and the costs of care are extremely challenging for Simon at this time.

Currently Janet cannot do anything on her own and will likely need a feeding tube. She is booked into a care home at the end of February for 2 1/2 weeks and Simon has been advised he has possibly done as much as he can. The future looks both bleak and expensive.

Given the care home costs are £6,200.00 it would be nice to see if we can help Simon by raising a decent amount towards this cost. It will also show care and support for Simon, Peter & Maria, and highlight to them that they are not alone at this challenging time.

All donated funds (after the gofundme deductions) will go directly to Simon's personal account to be used at his discretion to help with the costs of Janet's latest and critical care.

It would be ideal that donations are received by the end of next week (21st) to wrap this up before Janet heads to the care home at the end of this month. On the GoFundMe site you will have the option whether you give your name or remain anonymous.

We would like to keep this funding a surprise from the family until we hand over what we have been able to achieve, thank you.
