Standing with Shelly Allen in the Unimaginable

This holiday season was meant to be one of joy and celebration. Shelly, from Quilt Winks, was preparing to welcome her adult child home—anticipating time together, laughter, and the simple gift of having her baby girl under the same roof.

Instead, Shelly was met with the most unimaginable heartbreak a parent can experience. Her child arrived home sick, and tragically, Shelly is now facing a loss no parent should ever have to endure.

In the midst of grief, there are also overwhelming questions: How do you move forward? Where do you even begin? When the world stops, life’s responsibilities do not, and the weight of unexpected expenses only adds to an already unbearable moment.

After talking as a team at The Knotted Thread, we asked ourselves the same question so many of us ask in times like this: How can we help?

This GoFundMe is the best way we know how to love and support Shelly right now, by easing some of the unexpected financial burdens so she can focus on what truly matters: grieving, healing, and taking one step at a time.

We did not ask Shelly’s permission in advance. This was done purely out of love, respect, and a desire to stand beside her when words fall short.
