Sheila has dedicated her entire career to serving the people of Boston through her work in 911 Operations at the Boston Police Department. She’s the calm voice on the other end of the line during someone’s worst day — the one making sure help gets where it’s needed.

In 2022, she married Michael Fitzpatrick — a fellow public servant, retired Boston EMS EMT, and current 911 operations dispatcher in private EMS. Together, they’ve spent decades caring for others.

On Sunday, June 1st, their lives changed in an instant. Sheila found Michael in distress. He was rushed to Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, where doctors confirmed he had suffered a hemorrhagic stroke. He now faces a long and uncertain road to recovery.

Michael is unable to work, and as his medical needs grow, the financial burden has fallen entirely on Sheila…all while she continues working full-time and navigating the emotional toll of this crisis.

Sheila is incredibly private and not someone who would ever ask for help — but she’s always the first person to show up when someone else needs it. She has been that constant for our family more times than we can count. There has never been a singular moment where we couldn’t count on our “Sasa.”

We are starting this fundraiser to help ease some of the financial strain so Sheila can focus on what really matters: Michael’s recovery and her own well-being.
