While the world continues to deal with the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, we know there’s no impact more difficult to bear than the loss of a friend, teammate and family member.
In May, ChampionX lost a member of its family to COVID-19 with the passing of Senthamarai Selvan, who was a plant shift leader at our Jebel Ali plant in Dubai, a place where he had worked for nearly five years. He began his career with the company as a process operator, and he was a valued and respected whose great personality inspired our team.
When members of the plant and others in our organization were asked about their fondest memories, their answers represented the best of our culture and the reason he was beloved in the organization. His “positive approach,” “sincerity and dedication,” “helping tendency and treating everyone as the same” embodied the one team culture at the Jebal Ali plant, and one we strive to create across ChampionX.
Senthamarai, who was 39 years old, is survived by his wife, Vasuki, his 3- and 6-year-old daughters, and other members of his family in India. His family lives in Virudhachalam, Tamil Nadu, and they were able to mourn his passing with a burial in his home country weeks ago.
As we share our heartfelt condolences with Senthamarai’s family, we also want to offer the opportunity to his friends and co-workers to help provide financial support to his family during their time of need.
