Help Us Create a Safe Sensory & Hygiene Space for Children With Special Needs in Bangladesh

This SEN school supports children with developmental and learning disabilities, many from very low-income families. Classrooms are bare, and children have very limited resources.

Our original goal is to transform one empty room into a colourful sensory & play space and also create a fun outdoor area.

Indoor Plans:

Bright colours, sensory tools, soft mats, calming lights, musical and educational toys.

Outdoor Plans:

Swings, footballs, and play equipment to encourage movement, confidence and joy.

I will personally travel to Bangladesh to oversee the setup, purchase materials, and help decorate the spaces, sharing updates so donors can clearly see the impact of their support.

Important Update – Expanding the Project

During our visit to assess the space, we discovered that the school’s current toilet facilities are in very poor condition and urgently need renovation.

For children with special educational needs, access to clean, safe and supportive bathroom facilities is essential. Many children require additional assistance and a calm environment for toileting. The current condition does not provide the hygiene, dignity or safety they deserve.

For this reason, we are expanding the project to include:

• Renovation of the existing school toilets

• Safe flooring and improved plumbing

• Better ventilation

• Access to clean water

• Basic painting and repairs to improve the overall environment

This is not a separate project — it is a necessary part of creating a safe and inclusive learning space for the children.

A sensory room alone is not enough if basic hygiene facilities are unsafe.
