Supporting Self-Funded Athletes-Beach Volleyball

Hi there,

We are Harry Jones (25) and Niko Gleed (22) an international beach volleyball team from Bournemouth, UK. We compete internationally for England on the Beach Pro Tour

We teamed up less than two years ago with one common goal; to become the best players we can be. Since then, we have traveled the world together representing our country, working as a team to raise our level and maximise every opportunity presented to us.

Beach Volleyball has always been our passion. It was the London Olympics in 2012 that sparked a fire in us to pursue the sport full-time; 10 years on, we recorded a fantastic season in 2022, raising ourselves into the top 80 teams in the world and securing several wins and titles.

After a year of competing on the professional tour, we now truly appreciate what a difference extra resources and opportunities can make in achieving high-level sporting success.

So now we need your help! Our goal this year is to win an international medal for our country and continue to boost our world ranking, and to achieve this, we need to invest even more time and effort into our development.

As our team is not directly supported by UK Sport funding, we are entirely reliant on our own sponsors, prize money and income in order to support our beach volleyball journey. To achieve our goals this year, we will need to fund a number of training camps and tournaments all across the world, and thus are seeking support to help cover costs such as travel and accommodation for ourselves and our support staff.

We want to expose ourselves to the highest level of competition possible, day in and day out, and represent our country with pride. Our initial targets involve training camps in Europe and The United States which with your support we can make possible to guarantee the best preparations for our first tournaments.
