Supporting Selah
Donation protected
My name is Bre Lasley. I’m starting this GoFundMe for my three month old niece Selah and for her parents (my little sister Chelsee and her partner Kerry).
Selah was recently diagnosed with a rare life limited genetic disorder, Anatomical Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia. This is a disorder that affects growth development of a portion of the brain. It has a wide range of symptoms and a wide range of severity, but it can affect growth and motor movements. This includes swallowing and has required that she have a gastronomy tube for nourishment. Selah is also having difficulty breathing on her own and is required to be on oxygen full time.
They have a team of some of the best pediatric experts at Primary Children’s hospital working to assess all the medical needs she currently has - and that requires lots of time, love, and money. Chelsee and Kerry are making sure that at least one of them are with Selah 24/7 which means one of them won’t be able to work and will also make it difficult to keep up with their other two children Triston and Era.
The prognosis has a huge range of outcomes and it is too early to know what the outcome will be for Selah, but we do know, is that at this stage she needs 24/7 care and expensive medical equipment for her to get the best outcome.
Moreover, while Selah was in the hospital for the past 2 weeks, her 2yr older sister was also admitted to the same hospital with breathing issues. She needed an ambulance ride from Layton to SLC as there was not a pediatrician on staff. This was an added unforeseeable expense.
Chelsee & Kerry’s family and friends are aiming to provide as much support and financial help as possible. However, we foresee it being almost impossible to keep up with the ongoing medical expenses.
- Primary Children’s Hospital expenses
- Ongoing at home medical care
- Medical machinery (at home and on the go)
- New transport to enable medical machinery
- Ambulance cover
- Weekly medical appointments
- Loss of primary income
- Money aside for inevitable medical emergencies
- Support for other two children
- Therapy and help for both parents etc…
If you can help in any way possible - we would be incredibly grateful.
Here’s to giving little Selly the brightest future possible.
